I. Surgical instruments and dressing materials
1. 1 anatomical forceps
For applying cotton swabs.
2. 1 straight scissors
a) For cutting open the packaging of dressings along the blue paper strips.
b) For cutting adhesive tape, cotton swabs, adhesive plaster.
3. 1 clothing scissors
For cutting open clothing and boots.
4. 4 safety pins in a twist-top bag
For fastening triangular bandages on arms and legs.
5. 2 combined dressing packets (gauze strips and cotton pads), each in a twist-top bag
For applying dressings and bandages.
6. 2 packets of 100 g absorbent cotton each, in a twist-top bag
For padding bandages and splints.
7. 1 triangular cloth bandage, in a twist-top bag
a) As a sling.
b) For head, neck, shoulder, elbow, hand, knee, foot bandages.
c) For fastening splints.
d) For pressure dressing in cases of severe bleeding from arms or legs.
The arm (or leg) should be elevated above the level of the heart, packed firmly with gauze or cotton over the wound, or, if necessary, with a handkerchief or similar substitute, then tightly wrapped until the bleeding stops, and secured with an overlaid bandage.

If it is impossible in this manner to fill the wound cavity because of the wound’s position, or if there is concern about doing so, a plug, wooden peg, tampon, or another smooth object wrapped in clean cloth may be pressed firmly into the wound and secured there with tightly tied triangular cloths and cotton.
To stop bleeding from arteries, the rubber tube supplied for this purpose is wrapped around the limb above the wound and tightened with the buckle until the hemorrhage stops, then secured by inserting a folded bandage underneath.
8. 20 safety pins, in a leather pouch
For fastening:
a) triangular cloths,
b) the tip of the tourniquet.
9. 3 cardboard splints, 33 × 10 cm
For splinting arm and leg fractures.
10. 10 safety needles, in a paper pouch with instructions for use.
11. 2 branding irons (hot cautery pins)
Used to cauterize body parts and secured with pieces of fire bandage and cotton bandage.

II. Medicines
1. 1 roll of zinc oxide adhesive plaster (adhesive tape)
a) For fastening cotton swabs in place over wounds.
b) For securing pressure bandages.
2. 1 ampoule containing 20 drops of tincture of iodine 7%, in a twist-top bag, 0.45 cc
For painting/disinfecting the skin around the wound.
